Spring Hair Care, Tips and More

It’s no secret that dry, winter air can do damage to your hair and scalp. Although Daylight savings time is right around the corner, on March 10th, this season has shown that cold weather can be unpredictable. Here are a few ways you can help get your hair back to looking great for this spring! Cut down on heat styling tools To avoid split ends and breakage, limit your use of tools like hair dryers, curling irons, and flat irons, as the heat can dry out your hair and scalp. Protect your hair with heat protection spray or a leave-in conditioner to prevent breakage. I’m a fan of It’s a Ten Miracle Leave-In Product and Morroccan Oil Perfect Defense. Get your hair trimmed Whether you have long or short hair, use heat tools or leave your hair natural, winter weather can make the ends of your hair dry and brittle. Getting your hair trimmed will help your hair look and feel healthier this spring. Contact me for an appointment! Don’t leave the house with wet hair Temperatures are still a little bit wild in the early part of spring -- we can see low temperatures in the 20s, still, even as high temperatures reach for 50 or better. Be careful leaving the house with wet hair, especially on cold mornings or windy days, as moisture can freeze around your hair and damage it. Use an oil treatment or deep condition once a week

A deep conditioning treatment, hair mask or even an oil treatment can help your hair recover from the winter. It helps moisturize your hair and scalp, strengthens hair, adds shine and can help prevent split ends and frizz.
